Community Foundation of West TN announces advancement of Beth Koffman to Chief Operating Officer
Jackson, Tennessee – The Community Foundation of West Tennessee announced the advancement of Beth Koffman to Chief Operating Officer.
As Chief Operating Officer, Koffman manages the daily operations of the organization and oversees development, marketing, and human resources. She will work closely with the staff to provide strategic, organizational, and administrative leadership to ensure the well-being of The Foundation.
“Success comes from working hard, and we are proud of Beth’s success. She has been a big part of our growth in the 16 years she has been with us,” said Jeb Campbell, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Community Foundation of West Tennessee. “As someone who has experience with our operations, we are excited to acknowledge Beth’s leadership as we continue our focus on being the premier donor-focused charitable organization in West Tennessee.”
Koffman joined The Foundation team in 2007 and has served in a variety of positions during her tenure, including Marketing Representative, Events and Community Relations Coordinator, Vice President of Operations, and Vice President. She has a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification and earned a Master of Business Administration from Union University.
“It is exciting to recognize effective leadership within the organization,” said Frank McMeen, President of the Community Foundation of West Tennessee. “Beth has been a huge asset to our team, and this advancement reflects how The Foundation’s work in the community allows all types of talent to flourish and grow alongside the organization.”
West Tennessee Healthcare – Stephanie Foust named employee of the month
Stephanie Foust, a registered nurse on B7, Critical Care Unit, has been named the West Tennessee Healthcare employee of the month for August.
Stephanie, who has been with West Tennessee Healthcare for over 21 years, was presented the award by Teresa Freeman, information nursing officer and Kathy Hall, director CCU MICU, when the Board of Trustees held its monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.
According to a press release from Amy Garner – Chief Compliance & Communications Officer – “Stephanie exemplifies the values and mission of our facility.
“She is a leader in her unit who gives compassionate care to her patients and their families. She is a team player who takes charge in pressure situations to help achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients.
“She is always willing to guide new staff, residents, and students to become the best ICU nurse they can be and does so with a smile on her face.
“She is currently one of our Journey to Excellence (J2E) impact award spotlight employees and is a star in her unit every day.

Simmons Shoe Store closing in Humboldt
Woodrow Wilson was President of the United States, the U.S. declares war on Germany and enters World War I, street cars were introduced in San Francisco, Walt Disney graduated from high school, a loaf of bread cost $0.09 and Simmons Shoe Store opened in Humboldt.
The year was 1917, and 106 years later, Simmons Shoe Store, a Humboldt icon has announced it is closing at 204 South 14th Avenue.

Construction continues on ‘The Willows’ on Cheyenne Drive
Details are limited, but construction continues at The Willows – a home for the aged – at 447 Cheyenne Drive.
A completion date has not been announced, but the 8,163-square-foot facility – located behind the United States Postal Service on West University Parkway – will consist of 16 units – is being constructed on 1.77 acres.
