New coffee shop headed for Thomsen Farms

The consideration of a site plan for a new coffee shop – The Human Bean, 450 Oil Well Road – was approved by the Jackson Municipal Planning Commission during its monthly meeting at Jackson City Hall, Wednesday.

Submitted by Arnold Investment Company, Inc. on behalf of First State Properties, LLC, the approximate 603-square-foot restaurant will be located at the corner of Oil Well Road and Exeter Road in Thomsen Farms on 0.86 acres.

The site plan shows there will be 26 parking spaces for the Jackson location, which will be the first in Tennessee.

The Human Bean was founded in 1998 with a commitment to developing the very best coffee drive-thru in Southern Oregon.

The Human Bean has 148 locations. The franchise is located in 21 states including Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, Wyoming, and West Virginia.

Site plan approved for new La Quinta Inn & Suites near baseball stadium

A preliminary consideration of a site plan for La Quinta Inn & Suites, proposed to be located at 140 East Park Square – near The Ballpark at Jackson – was approved by the Jackson Municipal Planning Commission during its monthly meeting at Jackson City Hall, Wednesday.

The 87-room hotel – offering 89 parking spaces – will be located on a two-acre lot.

La Quinta Inns & Suites is a chain of limited service hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Honduras.

La Quinta Holdings, Inc. first sold shares to the public in April 2014. La Quinta has headquarters in Irving, Texas.

Business Spotlight – Leaders Credit Union announces new advisory board members

JACKSON, Tennessee – Leaders Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative based in Jackson, Tenn., announces new additions to its three advisory boards.

According to a press release from Mary Helen English – Leaders Credit Union marketing & public relations specialist – Leaders developed the Cornerstone (Jackson), Memphis, and Northwest (Dyersburg, Milan, and Union City) Advisory Boards to maintain awareness of the latest consumer trends and member needs.

Advisory board members serve a two-year term, possess a strong knowledge of the community, and have experienced success in their community and/or professional career.

Recently, Leaders expanded and added five new members to the current advisory boards to help
advance the innovation and member experiences of the credit union.

McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport receiving $500k grant for control tower renovation

The Associate Administrator for the Federal Aviation Administration Office of Airports has informed Steve Smith, executive director of McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport, the approval of a $500,000 grant to be used for the renovation of the control tower – equipment and facilities.
