“The progress we’ve made already is truly incredible to us,” said Jim Farley, CEO of the Ford Motor Company, “… in 120 years, we (Ford) have built a lot of plants, but to see this progress here is really something.
“It’s a source of high-tech innovation, great careers and community investment here in West Tennessee.”
Farley, said BlueOval City will begin production in approximately 30 months.
“The whole plant will be carbon neutral,” Farley said, “We’ve never had a plant (of that nature). We have plants that are zero landfills now, but no fresh water will be used, at all … 100 percent of the water is reclaimed water.
“This is a new industrial revolution.”
Jackson Energy Authority Board of Directors approve 8 resolutions during monthly meeting
The Jackson Energy Authority’s Board of Directors approved eight resolutions during their monthly meeting at The Tennergy Center, Thursday.
“The Jackson Energy Authority’s board met (Thursday) to discuss items of business which included updates to policies, equipment purchases and a boring agreement,” Monte Jones said, “All items were approved including a purchase agreement with Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership corporation for acquisition of some existing services by JEA.”
Monte Jones is chairman of the Board of Directors, Jackson Energy Authority.
Resolutions authorized or approved included –
A contract for the removal and installation of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) for the bunker – Electric Power Systems, Inc. of Germantown submitted the low bid of $112,972.
A miscellaneous Electric, Gas, Water, Wastewater and Telecom directional boring contract with Jackson Boring & Trenching, LLC for the evaluiated amount of $571,750.
A purchase agreement with Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Cooperative for a total payment of $70,551.23.
Revisions to the Jackson Energy Authority’s Policy and Procedure Manual for the Electric Division.
Revisions to the Jackson Energy Authority’s Policy and Procedure Manual for the Gas Division.
Revisions to the Jackson Energy Authority’s Policy and Procedure Manual for the Water and Wastewater Divisions.
Purchase of a replacement vehicle for the Wastewater Division. The vehicle will be purchased from Lonnie Cobb Ford, Henderson, TN, for $72,629. The vehicle is in stock and meets JEA specifications.

Toyota Boshoku Tennessee expanding operations in Madison County
Toyota Boshoku is making a $54.4 million capital investment to expand manufacturing operations at its metal stamping facility in Jackson, Tennessee.
The expansion will create 80 new jobs in Madison County. The announcement came Thursday by Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart McWhorter, and Toyota Boshoku Tennessee, LLC (TBTN).
Adding 87,000 square feet to TBTN’s existing Jackson facility will allow the company to consolidate its stamping operations to become a lower arm seat supplier, while also supporting Toyota Boshoku America’s subsidiary locations.
Headquartered in Jackson, and one of Toyota Boshoku America’s subsidiary operations, Toyota Boshoku Tennessee, LLC specializes in metal stamping for the automotive industry.
Leaders Credit Union gains 4 certified financial counselors
Jackson, Tennessee – Leaders Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative in West Tennessee, announces four additional financial champions have become certified financial counselors.

JACKSON, TENNESSEE – LOOP, the Jackson-Madison County School System’s celebrated trade-based career pathway, has expanded to include one of the nation’s most comprehensive public utilities.
