The event allows over 3,000 middle school students from across West Tennessee to learn more about future career opportunities.

BlueOval SK plant manager visits UT Martin engineering students

Tennessee BlueOval SK Plant Manager Tracy Church spoke to engineering students at the University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Engineering Banquet on Tuesday, Feb. 21. More than 200 people attended the event including students, alumni, and scholarship donors.

Church provided an update on construction at BlueOval City, talked about the future of the site, and discussed the impact on the West Tennessee region. She highlighted future employment opportunities for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) students.

Congressman David Kustoff tours BlueOval City

United States Representative David Kustoff and members of his staff visited BlueOval City in Stanton, Tennessee on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

The 3,600 acre site will include a BlueOval SK electric vehicle battery plant and new electric Ford truck assembly plant. The $5.6 billion investment between Ford and SK On will create approximately 6,000 new jobs in Tennessee.

Grace Media Group continues growth, enters into partnership with Hunt Radio Properties, LLC

Jackson Energy Authority Water Division again earns perfect scores on Water System Sanitary Survey

Jackson, TENNESSEE – For the third consecutive time, the Jackson Energy Authority has earned perfect scores for both the JEA water system and Mercer water system.

According to a press release from Janet Wilbanks – JEA’s public relations coordinator – the survey, conducted by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Division of Water Resources, is an unannounced onsite review by TDEC inspectors that audit and evaluate every facet of the water system in accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Sanitary Survey Manual.

Construction nears completion on new KFC on Ridgecrest Road

An opening date has not been announced, but construction on a new KFC nears completion at 2978 Ridgecrest Road near Dr. F.E. Wright Drive.

The 2,400 square foot facility will offer a drive thru and seating for approximately 40 customers.

Herron Construction Company – Jackson & Medina – is building the new restaurant.

West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital announces reopening of Cardiac Cath Lab

Dyersburg, Tennessee – West Tennessee Healthcare is excited to announce the reopening of the cardiac catheterization (cath) lab located at Dyersburg Hospital. The hospital anticipates the reopening sometime in Spring 2023.

According to a press release from Amy Garner – Chief Compliance & Communications Officer – West Tennessee Healthcare – cardiac catheterization is an important diagnostic procedure used to visualize the arteries and chambers of the heart and treat any narrowing of blood vessels (stenosis) or other abnormality. A catheter – a thin, hollow tube – is inserted into a large blood vessel that leads to the heart. Once cardiologists identify a blocked artery, they can then open it to restore blood flow to the heart and prevent further muscle damage.
