Construction continues on Raymond James Financial Advisors new offices in Thomsen Farms

Raymond James financial advisors is scheduled to open in late March or early April at its new location in Thomsen Farms at 1381 Union University Drive.

The 6,000-square-foot facility, located next door to West Tennessee Bank, will employee 20.

After Raymond James makes the move from 534 Carriage House Drive, a grand opening and shred event is scheduled for May.

West Tennessee Healthcare – Clint Meek named employee of the month for February

Clint Meek, who has worked for over six years as an interventional RN in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, was named the West Tennessee Healthcare employee of the month for February.

Clint was presented the award by Deann Thelen, vice president, Entity CEO, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, made the presentation when the West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.

According to a press release from Amy Garner – WTH’s Chief Compliance & Communications Officer – Clint is a true representation of a team player.

He has worked multiple times when not on call to help out and has worked on his off days.

He is a patient advocate who always puts patient safety first. Clint is willing to learn new tasks and take on new challenges. He has great communication skills with family members and patients.

Clint stays calm and collected in moments of stress and emergencies. Thank you for everything you do!

Back Yard Burgers closes on North Parkway

Back Yard Burgers, 821 North Parkway, has closed.

The restaurant – owned by Gifford Powell and his son Josh, from Little Rock, Arkansas – was refurbished and reopened in July 2017.

Gifford and Josh also own three Back Yard Burger franchises is Arkansas and three in the Mississippi Delta.

With corporate offices in Nashville, Back Yard Burgers has restaurants in 12 states.

West Tennessee Healthcare – Raven Turner named January’s employee of the month

Raven Turner, an employee at West Tennessee Healthcare for over five years, will be presented West Tennessee Healthcare’s employee of the month award for January, when the West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees hold their monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, today.

Jeff Blankenship, Chief Financial Officer, West Tennessee Healthcare, will make the presentation.

Inclement weather prevented Raven from receiving the award when the Trustees met in January.

Raven works in Patient Access at the West Tennessee Surgery Center and is considered a “one-woman show.”

According to a press release from Amy Garner – WTH’s Chief Compliance & Communications Officer – the department can trust and never worry that registration with patients will be smooth with Raven behind the desk.

She communicates well with patients and staff members.

She is a dependable employee, and extremely thorough with her work.

She is kind, considerate, and her compassionate nature is what makes her a force to be reckoned with.

Her smile radiates as soon as you walk through the door.

Renovations continue at The Bank of Jackson, Oil Well Road, after water line breaks; drive thru remains open

It hasn’t been business as usual at The Bank of Jackson, 420 Oil Well Road, since a water line froze and burst on December 23, 2022.

Water flooded both the first and second floor of the bank, and Brasfield Construction Company, Inc., is piecing the financial institution back together.

All sheetrock has to be removed on both floors and ceiling title have to be replaced.

While customers can’t go inside to do their banking, the drive thru is open.

Other employees at the bank can be temporarily found at The Bank of Jackson’s locations at 558 Carriage House Drive and 132 West University Parkway.

The bank is looking at returning to full service in mid- to late April or early May.

Construction continues on 144-unit Copper Creek Apartments

Management could not be reached for comment, but construction continues on Copper Creek Apartments, a new 144-unit apartment complex on Creek Stone Cove – south of Sterling Farms Cove.

Brandon Buchanan Realty Group is the developer and Josh LeFevre Construction LLC is building the complex – which will consist of six- three-story buildings – on approximately 6.59 acres.

The facility will offer 229 parking spaces.
