Strictly Business – BUCHANAN REALTY GROUP highlights this week’s activity

Renovations continue on Starbucks at 12 Stonebridge Blvd.

Renovations are slow, but remain underway for a new Starbucks restaurant at 12 Stonebridge Boulevard.

The location is the former home of Krystal, which closed in September 2019.

Management could not confirm an opening date, but the new restaurant, which will include a drive thru window, will replace an existing location at 907 Vann Drive.

In April, Starbucks announced plans to return to downtown Jackson at 203 North Highland Ave., which is next door to The Blacksmith Restaurant.

West Tennessee Healthcare – Pam Henley Fisher named employee of the month for November

Pam Henley Fisher, who has been with West Tennessee Healthcare for over 24 years, was named the organization’s employee of the month for November.

A discharge planner in the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital Care Management department, Pam was presented the award when the West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Friday.

The award was presented by WTH Vice President – Jackie Taylor, MD, EVP/CPE, and Debbie Ashworth, director, Case Management.

According to a press release from Amy Garner – Chief Compliance & Communications Officer – “Pam’s coworkers say she volunteers to take calls, she doesn’t leave work until after everyone else, and she drives an hour to and from work all with a smile on her face.

“She is a major asset to her team and the hospital. We are so thankful to have Pam as an advocate!

“Congratulations!”

USJ’s annual Holiday Mart continues at Civic Center

The University School of Jackson’s annual multi-day Holiday Mart continues at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, 400 S. Highland Avenue.

The mart features gifts, clothing and accessories, holiday and home decorative items.

It is the school’s largest fundraiser.

Traditionally held the weekend before Thanksgiving, Holiday Mart attracts approximately 10,000 people to the Civic Center to shop, enjoy a variety of foods, and get in the holiday spirit.

The 2022 Holiday Mart opened with a Preview Party on Thursday, November 17, and featured a special Sip n’ Shop event Friday evening.

Kami Ramen Bar opening in The Columns on Vann Drive

Kami Ramen Bar is opening a new restaurant in Jackson at 103 Vann Drive in The Columns.

Kami Ramen Bar is described as a casual traditional Japanese Ramen Noodle restaurant with amazing drinks – a true taste Of Japan.

The restaurant is known for its appetizers, buns, salads, donburi, and of course, ramen – Chicken Ramen, Vegetable Ramen, Tonkotsu Ramen and desserts.

Renovations continue at the location, and an opening date has not been announced.

The national chain has two locations in Memphis – the Ridgeway Trace Center, 5865 Poplar Ave., Suite 110, and the Market at Wolf Chase, 2765 Wolf Creek Parkway suite 105.

Ford announces $1million capital grants program to support West TN non-profit organizations

STANTON, Tenn. – The Ford Motor Company Fund, the company’s philanthropic arm, is announcing a new $1 million capital grants program to strengthen and improve local communities’ infrastructure in West Tennessee, home to BlueOval City, Ford’s new $5.6 billion electric vehicle and battery manufacturing campus.

Capital grants are tax-exempt charitable gifts designed to fund capital projects such as building renovations, land preservation, and other community-based construction projects.

The $1 million in capital grants will be available for nonprofits and municipalities in West Tennessee,
located in the following counties surrounding BlueOval City: Haywood, Fayette, Tipton, Lauderdale, Shelby and Madison.

Business Spotlight – Physicians Surgery Center earns top certification and top recognition

Physicians Physicians Surgery Center in Jackson, Tenn., is the first ambulatory surgery center in Tennessee to receive the Advanced Orthopaedic Specialty Certification from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

According to a press release from Mary Reed – Reed: A Marketing Company – the certification further distinguishes the AAAHC-accredited facility from many other outpatient facilities for providing the highest quality of care, said Donna Klutts, Administrative Director/CEO, Physicians Surgery Center.

Of the approximated 6,820 ambulatory surgery centers in America only 5,700 are Medicare Certified.

There are approximately 138 in the state of Tennessee.

‘I’m betting on Jackson’ – Gary A. Taylor gives insight to Jackson’s future during Rotary visit

Ever the optimist, Gary A. Taylor, president of Gary A. Taylor Investment Company, continues to see growth in Jackson’s future, but he also is throwing caution to the wind.

“I see a lot of progress right now,” said Taylor, “Apartment buildings, hotels, that are currently under construction, but what you are going to see next year is – apartment (construction) will slow, housing will slow, and hotels not be constructed, because of interest rate increases.

“This next year we are preparing for a slow down.”

Taylor, who has developed 3.5 million square feet of retail space in Jackson, served as guest speaker at the Old Hickory Rotary Club of Jackson’s weekly meeting at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Monday. FOR COMPLETE STORY CLICK HERE
