Marco’s Pizza opens second Jackson location
Marco’s Pizza has opened its second restaurant in Jackson at 1683 South Highland Avenue.
The new 1,200-square-foot facility will be drive-thru- and pickup only without dine-in.
Business hours are 10 a.m. – 11 p.m., Sunday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday.
Marco’s is also located at 1146 Vann Drive.
Jacob & Regina Richmond open ‘Skillet Junction’ restaurant in historic Neely House
It has become apparent Jacob and Regina Richmond were made for the restaurant industry.
In October, the Jackson couple opened their third restaurant – Skillet Junction at 575 South Royal Street.
Jacob and Regina also own Saucy Jake’s, 936 Campbell Street, and Peppermint Addie’s, which is located at 112 E. Baltimore Street.
“Skillet Junction tells the story of our life,” Regina said, “With three different businesses, it incorporates into our life what we enjoy – which is family and food – which is our passion.
“We wanted to bring all of that into one and have a sit down restaurant … just to slow people down and enjoy the historicness of the new arts district in downtown Jackson.”
Located in the historic Neely House, a few items Skillet Junction offers on the menu includes chicken & waffles, shrimp & grits, eggs benedict and lemon mascarpone pancakes.
Business hours at Skillet Junction are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the restaurant has about 15 employees.
“Soon, we’ll offer a night lounge,” Regina said, “We have a full bar we will implement a couple of days each week. We’ve been well received … the community appreciates us – and we appreciate them.”

New 122 room hotel proposed for Park Place West
The hotel building boom in Jackson-Madison County continues.
The Jackson Municipal Planning Commission approved a consideration of a site plan for WoodSpring Suites, which will be located at 19 Bink Drive – 2939 Ridgecrest Road Extended – in Park Place West.
Located on 2.46 acres, the 13,120 square foot hotel will offer 122 rooms and 131 parking spaces.
Groundbreaking scheduled for new 5-story, 107 room Hyatt Place hotel near Jackson-Madison County General Hospital
Jackson, Tennessee – Hunt Properties, GP. is excited to announce construction of a new Hyatt Place hotel coming soon to the campus of West Tennessee Healthcare Jackson-Madison County General Hospital (JMCGH). The hotel will be located on the corner of West Forest Avenue and Lambuth Avenue.
The hotel will also be home to a Ronald McDonald House, which provides a home-like setting for families of children who are receiving medical care at JMCGH in the neonatal intensive care unit and at Le Bonheur Children’s inpatient unit, both located on the third floor of the hospital.
The hotel will be a 5-story facility with 107 rooms, approximately 79,000 sq. ft., and will include meeting spaces up to 2,500 sq. ft., a full-service fitness center, an indoor/outdoor pool with a bar, a coffee bar with lounging area, a full-service commercial restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating, and an upscale business center.
Construction continues on 144 unit apartment complex on Creek Stone Cove
Construction continues on Copper Creek Apartments, a new 144 unit apartment complex on Creek Stone Cove – south of Sterling Farms Cove.
Brandon Buchanan Realty Group is the developer and Josh LeFevre Construction LLC is building the complex – which will consist of six- three-story buildings – on approximately 6.59 acres.
The facility will offer 229 parking spaces.
