Business Spotlight – Alan Castleman of Hickman Realty Group earns broker’s license
Jackson, Tennessee – Local real estate veteran Alan Castleman recently received his broker’s license in Tennessee.
According to a press release from Summer Paris – Paris Creative Agency – to become a broker, Castleman was required to take a 30-hour broker management course and pass the State of Tennessee broker exam.
Castleman has had a successful career in the Jackson real estate market for the past 13 years. He is affiliated with Hickman Realty Group, West Tennessee’s largest brokerage. He has earned a reputation in the industry for his integrity, expertise and ability to stay ahead of market trends. June Merriweather, an Environmental Services Technician who has been with West Tennessee Healthcare for 21 years plus, was named the organization’s employee of the month for September.
June was presented the award by Teresa Freeman, VP/CNO, JMCGH, and David Evans, Director, Environmental Services when the West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.

Georgia-Pacific investing $425 million in Dixie Manufacturing creating 220 jobs in Jackson
Jackson, Tennessee – Georgia-Pacific is serving up some exciting news today: the
company has announced that it is investing $425 million in Jackson, Tennessee, to build a state-of-the-art Dixie manufacturing facility.
The plant will sit on 241 acres west of the city and is conveniently located near both Interstate 40 and
state Highway 223 and offers access to nearby rail service, which are all critical to ensure an efficient
and effective supply chain.
The new plant will significantly increase the supply of disposable tableware products that help busy consumers forget about doing dishes and concentrate on the important things in life. Construction is slated to begin by the end of the year and startup is expected in summer 2024.
