Construction continues at 2nd location for popular Jackson pizza restaurant
An opening date has been scheduled for a popular Jackson location at a new Marco’s Pizza at 1683 South Highland Avenue.
Management has scheduled the middle of October to open the 1,200-square-foot facility, which will be drive-thru- and pickup only without dine-in.
Marco’s is also located at 1146 Vann Drive.

Construction continues on new hotel concept in Park Place East
Construction continues on a new hotel concept – stayAPT Suites – at 86 Parkstone Place in Park Place East near the Holiday Inn Express & Suites.
The 59-room hotel will consist of 19,853 square feet located on a 2.19 acre lot, and offer 94 parking spaces.
The suites will offer 500-plus square feet and feature a full-size kitchen with full-size appliances, dedicated living room and a separate bedroom.
New car wash scheduled to be built on Vann Drive
Details are limited, but the 4,640 square foot building at 1110 Vann Drive is scheduled to be demolished to make way for a new car wash.
Wash Town, a locally owned and family-managed car wash with over 20 years of experience washing cars is scheduled to open this fall at the location in The Columns.
Wash Town uses a 130-foot-state-of-the-art tunnel car wash, and all washes feature free vacuums (30!) + microfiber towels and free glass cleaner for your windshield.
The location is the former home of West Alley Bar-B-Q & Smoke House, which closed in March 2021.
Casa Adobe Restaurante occupied the facility before West Alley, but closed in June 2018.
Pizza Hut opens new restaurant at 2097 South Highland Avenue
Flynn Restaurant Group LLC (FRG), Pizza Hut’s largest franchisee, is excited to announce the grand opening of its newest restaurant located at 2097 South Highland Ave. in Jackson.
The new location is projected to add 15 new jobs to the local economy. A grand opening celebration event will held Friday, August 19.
Grand opening festivities will include a giveaway for FREE Pizza for one year to the first 25 guests in line.
Each new Pizza Hut features the brand’s signature menu items, while enhancements to each restaurant provide a fresh and improved look, with a more modern, compact design.
Bold, energetic graphics are displayed on the interior and exterior of the new smaller design concept, making it ideal for serving delivery, curbside and carryout customer orders.
Pizza Hut is also located in Jackson at 605 Carriage House Drive, Henderson and Trenton.
New manufacturing company moving into Thomason Warehouse
Vent-Con, which manufactures ductwork for ventilation systems that involves sheet metal roll forming, is scheduled to occupy the former Thomason Warehouse building at 130 Beasley Street, located off South Highland Avenue.
The number of employees the company will hire and a start date for production have not been announced.
Richard Styles Jr. and Scott Smith will manage the company which specializes in light manufacturing.
Styles and Smith said there are no plans to renovate the interior or exterior of the building with local contractors.
Vent-Con will be using an existing building, which means architectural elevations were not required with the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission.
