Site plan approved for 282 unit apartment complex on corner of Ashport Road & North Highland Ave.

The consideration of a site plan for Bible Farm Apartments, proposed to be located at the 1380 block of Ashport Road (southwest corner of Ashport Road and North Highland Avenue) was approved when the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission held its monthly meeting at City Hall.

The apartment complex will be constructed on approximately 13.67 acres and consist of 282 units in 11, three story buildings.

A clubhouse will also be on the property, which will have 568 parking spaces.

Business Spotlight – Chibuzo Nwokolo MD joins West Tennessee Medical Group

JACKSON, TENNESSEE – West Tennessee Healthcare recently welcomed Chibuzo Nwokolo, MD, to his new medical practice at West Tennessee Medical Group – Cardiology.

He is accepting new patients at his office at 587 Skyline Drive, Jackson, TN. According to a press release from Amy Garner – Chief Compliance & Communications Officer – West Tennessee Healthcare Clinical services – Dr. Nwokolo will be joining Dr. John Baker and Dr. Tommy Miller, III, FACC.

Dr. Nwokolo has provided cardiovascular health service to the West Tennessee community since 2009. He received his medical degree from the University of Nigeria. He completed his residency and fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

He enjoys treating patients with cardiac problems and treating patients with severe peripheral vascular disease. He feels that keeping the patient as the main focus of his practice allows him to make the personal connection needed to assist that patient in a direction towards a healthy lifestyle.

“I have been practicing in Jackson for the past 13 years, married with three kids who are all in college. I will continue to provide exceptional cardiac care to the West Tennessee community and look forward to joining the WTMG team,” he said.

New restaurant opening on Pleasant Plains Extension

The first tenant for 2100 Pleasant Plains Extension has been announced.

Bahia Bowls, a new cafe’ that will offer a variety of healthy choices that are recognized as both delicious and nutritious, is scheduled to open in the 9,800 square foot facility in early fall.

Guests will be able to choose from made-to-order chopped salads and wraps with many items being Gluten free, NO added sugar, NO artificial preservatives and NO trans fats.

For customer convenience a drive-thru will also be available along with take-out and inside dining.

MG Construction Company is the lead contractor for the facility located next to Foundation Bank.

Opening date set for Burlington in West Towne Commons

Business hours have not been announced, but Burlington, an American national off-price department store retailer has set an opening date for 85 Stonebrook Place in West Towne Commons.

The retailer will open Friday, August 26.

Formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, Burlington will occupy the entire 24,975 square foot building located between Target and Kroger.

The building is being entirely renovated – including a new roof, new HVAC systems, and new front facade.

Burlington is expected to add approximately 30 new jobs to the community.

Business Spotlight – West Tennessee Medical Group welcomes Jordi Espel, M.D.

JACKSON, TENNESSEE – West Tennessee Healthcare recently welcomed Jordi Espel, M.D., plastics and reconstructive surgery.

According to a press release from Amy Garner – Chief Compliance & Communications Officer – West Tennessee Healthcare Clinical services – Dr. Espel comes from Memphis where he was a reconstructive surgeon.

He received his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and completed residency at Hospital General “Dr. Manuel Gea Gonzalez” and Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico.

He has also completed fellowships in Microsurgery, craniomaxillofacial, and pediatric craniofacial surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
