Casey Jones Village Festival offers free family entertainment, Saturday
The public is invited to the free, inaugural Casey Jones Village Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Ellie Holcomb concert that was planned for later that night has been canceled but the day still will be filled with free family-friendly activities and food. The festival is the first of what is hoped to be an annual event. This year’s event is part of the Jackson-Madison County Bicentennial Celebration.

1. Jackson, Tennessee
This “birthplace of Rockabilly Music” topped the charts for the most chicken biscuits sold in 2021. Wonder if they’ll be singing the same tune next year?

It’s probably no surprise that our hometown sells a ton of our best-selling breakfast entrée. (Nearly 21.3 million were ordered in Atlanta last year alone!) The city where Chick-fil-A started is also clearly full of residents who start their day with a savory breakfast sandwich.

Speaking of Chick-fil-A
Chick-fil-A has maintained its position as America’s favorite restaurant for eight years in a row, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).
That’s in spite of the fact that overall, consumers prefer full-service restaurants over fast food.
The survey found that Americans’ satisfaction with fast food restaurants decreased by 2.6% in the last year, earning the category a score of 76. Meanwhile, full-service restaurants maintained their score of 80 from 2021.
The ACSI released its annual restaurant survey for the 2021-2022 year.
Friends of Heart fundraiser – ‘Black Tie & Blue Jeans’ scheduled for August 6
Join Friends of Heart, a fund of the Foundation, as we raise money to serve the cardiac health needs of West Tennesseans at our largest annual fundraiser—Black Tie & Blue Jeans, presented by West Tennessee Healthcare.
The event will be held at 6 p.m., August 6.
According to Caitlin Roach – executive director, Friends of Heart – the evening includes a plated dinner by Gourmet Your Way, a cash bar, a live and silent auction, a whiskey pull, and dancing with Memphis’s own G3 Band, the house band of the Grizzlies.
