Jackson Energy Authority Board of Directors approve 9 resolutions during monthly meeting
The Board of Directors at Jackson Energy Authority approved nine resolutions during their monthly meeting at the Tennergy Center, Thursday.
The resolutions –
Approved the offering for a commercial electric vehicle (EV) charging rate.
Approved authorization of a Tree Trimming Contract with Delta Tree Service – not to exceed $730,000.
Approved the purchase of 4-inch and 6-inch polyethylene pipe for the Gas Division – Consolidated Pipe & Supply Company, Collierville, submitted the low bid – $97,912.35.
Approved the purchase of residential meters for the Water Division – 6,502 meters in the amount of $663,103.40 from Badger Meter, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and 6,504 meters in the amount of $585,360 from United Systems, Benton, Kentucky.
Approved authorization of the purchase of ductile iron pipe for Jackson Energy Authority’s planned FY23 water main rehab and extension projects – low bid of $362,597 was submitted by Core & Main, Memphis.
Approved authorization for the purchase of PVC pipe for the Anderson Branch (AN) wastewater interceptor main rehabilitation project – low bid of $270,039.20 was submitted by C&C, Atwood, TN.
Approved authorization for the purchase of a distribution denial of service (DDoS) detection and mitigation solution from enfoPoint Solutions, who submitted the low bid of $422,399.
Approved authorization for the purchase of IBM Aspera Enterprise 300Mbps Data Transfer License for the Telecom Division – low bid of $92,500 was submitted by PackGenesis, Austin, Texas.
Approved adopting fiscal year 2023 budgets.

The Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for Tennessee increased in May to 3.3% from April’s rate of 3.2%
During the same time period, the Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for the United States remained the same at 3.6%.
The unemployment rate increased in all 95 counties.
Williamson County had the lowest unemployment rate at 2.3 percent.
Perry County had the highest unemployment rate at 5.5 percent.
