Baskin-Robbins vacates Vann Drive location
Baskin-Robbins, the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, may have left the Jackson market after vacating 907 Vann Drive Suite G, but according to Brandon Buchanan – Buchanan Realty Group – the 1,300-square foot facility should not be vacant very long.
“We are actively marketing the property, and we’ve drawn interest from other companies,” Buchanan said, “The location – which is across the street from a Chick-fil-A, next to a Chipotle and across Vann Drive from a Walmart Supercenter – is the best retail corner in the city of Jackson.
While Buchanan did not name a prospective client for the facility, he did say Buchanan Realty Group is talking to nationally known ice cream companies not in the Jackson market.
Coffman’s Home Furnishings – 44,000-square-foot showroom sells for $3 million plus
Shaun Goldie and wife Crystal, owners of Coffman’s Home Furnishings, Inc., have purchased the 44,000-square-foot showroom at 2845 U.S. Highway 45 Bypass in Jackson.
The couple purchased the property from Bobby Coffman, Bennie Paul Coffman, John David Coffman, and Bennie Mark Coffman for $3,300,000
Coffman’s Home Furnishings was incorporated in 1965, and moved to north Jackson in 1982.
Tracing its beginnings to a small country business founded by Vernon Coffman in the 1930s, Coffman’s Home Furnishings, Inc. offers customers leading brands of furniture, mattresses, appliances and outdoor living.
Havner’s Frame Shoppe relocating to 105 North Church Street
Havner’s Frame Shoppe is moving to 105 North Church Street, in downtown Jackson.
An opening date has not been announced, but renovations continue on the building that is the former home of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
Havner’s, located at 1019 Campbell Street, has been in business since 1977.

Gerdau announces $67 million investment in Jackson mill
TAMPA, Florida – May 13, 2022 – Gerdau today announced upgrades to its Jackson, Tennessee (801 Ameristeel Road) steel mill. The investment will expand the location’s merchant bar product range and operational competitiveness, while improving the flexibility of Gerdau’s network of mills.
The $67 million project involves a variety of upgrades to Jackson’s rolling mill, roll shop, warehouse, and warehouse conveyer.
“This marks the next step in Gerdau’s North American investment strategy, as we continue to modernize our operations to compete and grow in attractive markets,” said Chia Yuan Wang, President of Gerdau Long Steel North America. “We are committed to providing our customers with world-class products and services”.
Project completion is targeted for February 2024.
