NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee State Library & Archives says it has a new online collection about the women’s suffrage movement.

The collection, called “Women’s Suffrage: Tennessee and the Passage of the 19th Amendment,” highlights Tennessee’s role in the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gave women the right to vote in 1920.

Library officials say the collection includes papers from pro-suffrage lobbyist Carrie Chapman Catt, anti-suffrage lobbyist Josephine A. Pearson and Governor Albert H. Roberts.

It also includes letters, telegrams, political cartoons, broadsides, photographs and three audio clips.

The collection has more than 100 items, and officials say more will be added as the 100th anniversary of the suffrage vote approaches.
