MADISON Co, TN – The State Department of Commerce and Insurance released the June disciplinary report. Two Jackson cosmetology businesses were fined.
The Polished Nail Salon, Union University Dr. was fined $2,000 for failing to ensure proper licensure.  The Polished Salon just recently relocated to Thomsen Farms.  (see related story here).
Lena Nail Spa, Stonebrook Place, West Towne Commons, was find $1,000Â for failing to ensure proper licensure.
Both fines are civil penalties.
The Division of Regulatory Boards protects the health and safety of citizens through boards, commissions, and programs by ensuring that persons meet minimum professional standards, and by handling complaints. The Division’s boards include the Motor Vehicle Commission, the Real Estate Commission, the Board of Funeral Directors & Embalmers and the Cosmetology & Barber Examiners Board.
These boards are empowered to take disciplinary action – including revocation of licenses and assessment of civil penalties – against license holders found guilty of violating laws governing their professions.
