JACKSON Tenn (March 12, 2015) — Jackson City Councilman Harvey Buchanan Announces Annual Spring Clean Up For City Council District Four.
Councilman Buchanan said he is urging all District Four citizens to place all brush piles, trash piles, furniture piles and other debris on the curb for curbside pickup.
“I am asking and urging all neighborhood watch groups, street captains, all area churches, youth groups, businesses, civic organizations, fraternities and sororities to get involved in the Keep Jackson Beautiful Annual Great American Cleanup to help keep our community strong and vital with a festive and attractive atmosphere,” said Buchanan.
The City of Jackson Street Department, Health and Sanitation Department and Keep Jackson Beautiful; Tennessee Community Services and Waste Management are collaborating with District Four to help with this clean up day.
“We hope to have everything cleaned up and picked up by April 3, 2015, which is Good Friday,” said Councilman Buchanan. Buchanan said “Let us continue to keep the atmosphere of District Four safe and clean,”.
Keep Jackson Beautiful, along with other organizations in Keep America Beautiful’s national network of community-based affiliates, are planning volunteer events and experiential environment education programs structured to beautify parks, reduce waste and increase recycling, remove litter and debris.
