This lottery was somewhat different than most, but a donation of blood earned South Fulton’s Earl Hunt a new Polaris Ranger 500, which has a retail value of $8,000.

Hunt was one thousands of West Tennesseans who volunteered to donate blood to LIFELINE Blood Services, which gave each the opportunity to register to win the Polaris Ranger.

Bob Beasley II, owner of Bob’s House of Honda, partnered with LIFELINE Blood Services – 183 Sterling Farm Drive – to attract donors during June and July.

During the two months, 5,262 donors responded to the call to donate blood in what is recoginized as one of the most difficult times to recruit volunteer blood donors.

“We needed something really special to get folks attention and to encourage them to come on and donate blood,” said Cherie Parker, Public Relations Coordinator for LIFELINE Blood Services. “The chance to win a Polaris Ranger 500 did the trick.”

Community minded, Bob said the House of Honda participates – and has participated – in several worthy causes during the year, including the annual Decatur County St. Jude Coon Hunt.

“It’s always a struggle for (LIFELINE), and they approached me,” Bob Beasley II said. “It’s something that affects everybody … you, or someone you know, but donating blood is something that slips people’s minds. During the summer, people are getting out of school or vacationing.”

Bob’s House of Honda, which has been in business since 1968, is located at 603 Vann Drive.
