Icy streets and roads can be a different animal in Madison County, but that’s when a few neighbors in the Timbers subdivision took matters into their own hands and put a shovel in them to help clear a portion of Bascom Road that is more than treacherous when frozen.
Several motorists have either slid off the road or had trouble navigating a turn, so that’s when Kevin Deaton, a resident of the area enlisted the help of Brian and Billie Woods and Steve Richardson who live nearby and started breaking ice to help create traction, Saturday.
After a low which moves into single digits again Saturday night, relief hopefully is in sight.
For Sunday, a high of 32 is expected with a low of 6 followed by a high of 42 Monday, with a low at 23.
