Singleton, Alexander & Randall visit White Oak Farms in Medina for ‘Summer Songwriter’s Night,’ Saturday

The Venue at White Oak Farms, in conjunction with Clayton Rentals and Productions, will host its first ‘Summer Songwriter’s Night,’ with three of Nashville’s most sought-after songwriters – Jessi Alexander, Jonathan Singleton and Jon Randall, at 7 p.m., Saturday.

“It will be a true “In The Round” experience where you’ll hear the insider’s story behind some of the biggest hits ever to come out of Nashville,” Stephanie Alexander said. “You’ll hear songs like “The Climb,” “Mine Would be You,” “Drink on It,” “Tin Man,” “Whisky Lullaby,” “I Drive Your Truck,” “Watching Airplanes,” “Why Don’t we Just Dance,” “Diamond Rings and Old Bar Stools.”

Stephanie Alexander and husband Josh, co-own the Venue at White Oak Farms, 284 Spring Creek Highway in Medina.

Jonathan Singleton is an American Grammy-nominated country music singer and songwriter. He is known for co-writing the songs “Don’t,” by Billy Currington, “Watching Airplanes,” by Gary Allan, “A Guy Walks Into a Bar,” by Tyler Farr, “Red Light,” and “Let It Rain” by David Nail, “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” by Josh Turner and “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools” by Tim McGraw.

In 2009, the American Society of Composers, Publishers and Authors (ASCAP) awarded Singleton for “Don’t,” which was one of the most-played country music songs of that year.

The same year, Singleton sang lead vocals in a band he founded – Jonathan Singleton & the Grove.
The band also consisted of William Coats (drums, background vocals), Andy Dixon (bass guitar, background vocals), Justin Dudley (keyboards), Dustin Nunley (rhythm guitar, background vocals) and Josh Smith (rhythm guitar, background vocals). They signed to Universal South Records in March 2009.

Jon Randall Stewart signed to RCA Nashville in 1995, and debuted that year with the album What You Don’t Know.

A second album for RCA, 1996’s Great Day to Be Alive, was recorded but never released.

Randall entered the Top 40 on the country charts as a duet partner on then-wife Lorrie Morgan’s song “By My Side,” in 1996.

A third album – and second to be released – 1998’s Cold Coffee Morning, was issued on Asylum Records, followed by 1999’s Willin′ on the independent Eminent label.

In 2005, he issued Walking Among the Living on Epic Records.

Jessica Leigh “Jessi” Alexander, a native of Jackson has had her songs recorded by Patty Loveless, Trisha Yearwood and Little Big Town.

She also launched her own recording career in 2004. Two of her songs charted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, and Columbia Records released her debut album, Honeysuckle Sweet, on March 1, 2005.

Alexander, the wife of Jon Randall, co-wrote Miley Cyrus’ single “The Climb”, for the 2009 film Hannah Montana: The Movie and the Hannah Montana song “I’ll Always Remember You” from the Hannah Montana Forever soundtrack.

Seating for the event at the Venue at White Oak Farms is general admission.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m., – the show starts at 7 p.m. – and small coolers are allowed that will fit in front of a seat.
