Shootout near Exxon on North Highland leaves one injured

A late morning shootout near Old Hickory Exxon, 1974 N. Highland Ave., has left one person injured and authorites looking for a suspect.

Jackson Police Department Captain Jeff Shepard, commander North Precinct, issued a statement about the shooting.

“We responded to The scene at Exxon at Old Hickory and Highland,” Shepard said. “We’re investigating a shooting. A female has shown up at the emergency room at Jackson (Madison County) General with non-life threatening injuries.

“We are looking for a possible suspect vehicle which is a Gold malibu, four-door with the rear window busted out.

“Anybody with information about that is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department.”
