Arrests, firearms seized, missing children found, gang members arrested – Task Force updates numbers in Memphis

As of today, Monday, February 16, 2026 – Operational Period – Day 140 – The Memphis Safe Task Force reports 6,142 total arrests, 993 illegal firearms seized, 612 known gang members arrested and 148 missing children have been found since the arrival of the Tennessee National Guard.

 

In addition to National Guard troops, the DOJ’s components on the ground in Memphis include the FBI; U.S. Marshals Service; the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. A string of local and state law enforcement are also involved.

 

All resources are in Memphis to assist with and support local priorities.

 

The Tennessee National Guard will provide additional eyes and ears, supporting Memphis Police Department who will continue to manage public safety in the city.

 

Per the Presidential Memorandum, the guardsmen and women are deputized by the U.S. Marshals.

  1. I love it I have worked in Memphis as a nurse and have heard gunfire at 3 pm . That’s no way for anyone to have to live. The common folk in Memphis surely appreciate feeling safer while going about their lives.
