There have been new developments in a shooting investigation.
On July 18, at approximately 11:55 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an altercation at Denmark Community Center located at 164 Neely Station Road.
Investigators say that there were several individuals at the Denmark Community Center that were attempting to leave when the deputies arrived at the scene. There were several opened alcohol containers and what appeared to be the smell of marijuana.
According to authorities a shooting occurred and two (2) juveniles, ages 17, and a 21-year old, left in a 1994 red Chevy pick-up. Upon stopping the suspect vehicle, deputies observed a 17-year old in the bed of the truck that had been shot on the ankle. Jakeil M. Waller, age 21 of 1427 North Royal Street, Jackson, TN, and the second 17-year old juvenile were in the cab of the vehicle. The pick-up had damage that could possibly be consistent with gun shots.
The 17-year old was transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The investigation is continuing. No charges have been filed at this time.
