Severe Storms Roll Through Jackson and West Tennessee

(December 21, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- Severe Thunderstorms rolled through the area tonight.

We will continue to monitor the situation as it develops.

Currently, Gibson Electric Membership Corporation reports that there are 9 outages that affect 437 members. 

Gibson Electric reports, "The largest outage is northwest of Bells where 145 members are without power.   Another outage between Maury City and Bells is affecting 110 members.  Scattered small outages are located primarily through Crockett and Gibson counties.  There is just one small outage west of Union City."

There is a Flash Flood Warning in the area that lasts until 12AM CST.

In Crockett County, there are reports of roads closed and power outages in the Cypress and Johnson Grove areas. According to Crockett County Sheriff, Highway 188, 54 South, and 88 From Bells to Alamo are closed.

According to Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation, Windy City Road power should be restored within 15-20 minutes.
