Jackson police investigators identified the second suspect wanted for a June 1
home invasion in the 400 block of Old Humboldt Road. Kori Jones, age 23 of
Neptune, New Jersey, was arrested around 2:00 a.m., June 13 in Crockett
County by the West Tennessee Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force, which is
headed up by the U.S. Marshals and consist of Jackson Police Department
Gang Unit Investigators, Madison County Sheriff’s Department Deputies and
other local agencies.
Jones is charged with Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Robbery. He was
set a bond of $50,000 on Saturday morning and will be formally arraigned in
Jackson City Court, Monday morning at 8:00.
The first suspect, Stephen Williams, age 21 of Jackson, surrendered at the
Jackson Police Department on June 5. He faces the same charges and
continues to be held at the Madison County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
RECAP:
On June 1 around 4:35 p.m., a 28-year-old Jackson man told Jackson police that
he was at his house in the 400 block of Old Humboldt Road when two men
knocked on the door inquiring about purchasing rims and tires. The man opened
his garage door and let the two men look at the items. One of the men struck
him in the head with a handgun and they struggled momentarily. The victim told
the men that his wallet was in the house and they could take whatever they
wanted. Both men went inside the home and took the victim’s wallet and watch.
They were described as 20 to 25 years old and both wearing blue jean shorts
and white t-shirts. One male was wearing a black do-rag on his head and the
other had braids with black beads. One male had the letters “NJ” tattooed
horizontally on his right forearm and stated that it stood for New Jersey. The
men left in a maroon Tahoe.
