Stephen Lynn Stokes, a Benton County commissioner, who was indicted on one count of Sexual Battery of a minor in June, failed to appear for a scheduled court date, remains at large.
Stokes, 50, who was ordered to surrender his passport, had his bond set at $100,000, and the judge placed a no contact order with the victim.
Documents say the offense occurred in late 2022.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Stokes, and two law enforcement agencies – the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service are now involved in the search.
