(January 14, 2014) Jackson, Tenn.- Over 40 years ago, Sandy Beall opened what would go on to be both a national and international restaurant chain near the campus of the University of Tennessee.
That restaurant was Ruby Tuesday.
However, today in Jackson, Tennessee, Ruby Tuesday has closed their doors and signs have been removed from the building and covered on Vann Drive.
This happens as multiple locations will close as a part of corporate restructuring. Ruby Tuesday did a review of their real estate portfolio and made that announcement their quarterly earnings report.
The Maryville, Tennessee based company, plans to close 30 restaurants. Of those 30, 27 are expected to close in the company’s 3rd quarter and the remaining 3 in the 4th quarter.
