JACKSON, Tenn.—On Tuesday, July 4, the Goats beat the league-best Cape Catfish 11-8, before an announced crowd of 3,974.
Following the game, fans experienced the largest fireworks show in Jackson presented by H&R AgriPower.
Leftfielder Griffin Cameron got the scoring started for the Rockabillys with a three-RBI triple in the bottom of the second inning.
He added a fourth RBI in the sixth.
Shortstop Aydan Hamilton also had a big night at the plate, going three-for-five with three RBIs.
Cade Davis started for the Rockabillys and threw six innings of six-hit, four-run ball while striking out six Catfish hitters.
Roman Smith got the win after pitching one inning and giving up one run.
Ethan Orwig was the second reliever of the night, surrendering three runs in one inning of work. Colton Brumley earned the save in his Rockabillys debut as he threw the ninth inning and gave up no runs.
Next up for the Goats is a road matchup with the Catfish on Wednesday, July 5, before a rematch on Thursday, July 6, against Cape in another ‘Throwback Thursday’, which will feature $2 prices on 16 oz. domestic beer, 16 oz. Coca-Cola products, hamburgers, and hotdogs.
On Friday, July 7, the Rockabillys open a three-game homestand against the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes, and afterwards, fans can stay to enjoy Friday Night Fireworks.
