The approval to rezone property north of 1775 Vann Drive, west of the intersection of Rushmeade Road and Boyd Drive, from SC-1 (Planned Unit Commercial Development District) to RG-3 (General Residential District) containing 18.27 acres, gives way to a new development in the Columns.
The request was submitted by the Gary A. Taylor Investment Company, when the Jackson City Council held its monthly meeting at Jackson City Hall, Tuesday.
A request was also approved to rezone property located at 1926 South Highland Ave., from RS-1 (Single Family Residential District) to SC-1 (Planned Unit Commercial Development District), comprising 2.60-plus acres, and RS-1 (Single Family Residential District) to B-5 (Highway Business District), comprising 5.02-plus acres, submitted by Eric Rowland.
The rezoning of property located at 239 Oil Well Road from Office Center to Planned Unit Commercial Development – submitted by Brandon Buchanan – was approved.
An ordinance to Amend Title 15, Chapter 9, pertaining to Parking Zones, Time Restrictions, and Penalties for Violations was also approved.
Six people were reappointed to the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Domestic and Sexual Violence.
The six are – Jennifer McCraw, Michelle Reddick, Jane Jarvis, Jody Pickens, Kathy Blount and Hugh Harvey.
Joel McAlexander was reappointed to the Environmental Advisory/Appeals board, and Hampton Williams was reappointed to the board of the Ned McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center.
