Madison County Tenn — Daniel Doran was in General Sessions Court for a probable cause hearing.

Doran is a Registered Sex Offender with the State of Tennessee. At the time of the alleged incident Doran was on Community Supervised Probation.

According to testimony of the victim, on December 31, 2014 the victim and Daniel Doran spent the evening together. The two were registered at a local motel which the victim says Doran paid for. According to the victim, after an evening out the two returned to the motel room were the victim says the two had consensual sex.

The victim testified that afterwards, while she was in the bathroom, her phone rang and it was a male friend. According to the victim, Doran became angry and physically assaulted her. She stated that in addition to the physical assaults, Doran threatened to burn her family’s house down and kill her little girl’s daddy if she told anyone.

The victim states that Doran forced to her have sex. She said afterwards Doran went to sleep and she was able to leave the room.

The victim said she didn’t report the alleged incident because she was afraid for her family’s safety. She testified that she did tell her sister, who told a brother-in-law, and that is how police were notified.

Judge Hugh Harvey found there was probable cause to hold the case over for the Grand Jury.
