Protesters made their way from the Old Hickory Mall parking lot to Jackson City Hall, Wednesday, to have their voices heard concerning racism and police brutality.
“I’m glad I went,” Krista Paul said, “The protests were so positive. There were families from my church and friends I haven’t seen in a while … I was encouraged by the participation.”
Krista, who serves as a resource director for the United Way of West Tennessee, said she did not attend in a professional capacity.
“I was there as a concerned citizen of Jackson and West Tennessee,” Krista said.
About 125 showed up at the mall, and the crowd doubled in size when the movement headed to city hall.
Krista said Union University is hosting a protest at 4:45 p.m., today.
