The Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission recommended the Jackson City Council deny a request to rezone approximately 5.03 acres located at 191 Vann Drive from General Residential to a Planned Unit Commercial Development.
Needing a majority vote for approval, three members voted to recommend the request, two abstained and one voted against the proposal when the Planning Commission held its monthly meeting at Jackson City Hall, Wednesday.
Home owners in the area of Country Club Lane and Seventeen Green voiced their opposition to the proposal, citing additional traffic congestion in the area.
Plans for the development, which will go before the City Council for a First Reading in July, called for a walkable community and was submitted by The Legends Partners on behalf of C&H Investment Group, LLC.
