Police Investigate Early Morning, Double Shooting that Leads to One Homicide
Jackson police are investigating the early morning homicide of Clinton Berry, 49, and shooting of his 53-year-old girlfriend.
Around 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to Rich Cove apartments, located at 520 Berry Street. Berry and his girlfriend had both been shot.
Berry and the woman were transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Berry was pronounced dead, and the woman was transported to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. She is currently in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that Berry and the woman lived in an apartment at Rich Cove apartments. Berry and a man had a fight that started outside on the second floor of the apartment complex. The fight continued downstairs.
Berry then approached another man who was outside in the courtyard. The man fired shots, striking Berry and the woman.

Investigators are attempting to gather more information about the details that led to the shooting.
Investigators identified Carlos Ross, 23, as a person of interest. Ross is from Nashville and has family ties to Jackson.
The investigation is ongoing and investigators want to talk to Ross.
