On Thursday shortly before 1:00 p.m., Jackson Police received a call of two people who had
been shot. Two roommates, Daniel Campbell, 23, and Christopher Campbell, 24, who are not related, had both suffered single gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Both men told police that each was shot by the other one during a dispute.
The investigation has determined that around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday, Christopher Campbell confronted Daniel Campbell inside their home in the 200 block of N. Hamilton Street. Christopher Campbell accused Daniel Campbell of stealing from him and struck him multiple
times in the head with a handgun. Daniel Campbell suffered minor injuries.
Around 12:55 p.m. today, Christopher Campbell confronted Daniel Campbell again in the area of N. Hamilton and Camden Street. Christopher Campbell displayed a weapon and shot Daniel Campbell in the back of the forearm as he attempted to run away. Christopher Campbell suffered what investigators believe was an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg. The gun was
recovered in a wood line on Camden Street. Both men were treated and released. Christopher Campbell faces charges of Aggravated Domestic Assault for Tuesday’s attack and Attempted Murder for today’s shooting.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning in Jackson City Court at 8:00 a.m.
