Peabody ended its season with a Class 2A state championship, and the No. 1 ranking in the final week of the NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM & WNWS.COM Bakers Dozen Coaches Poll.
The Tide began the season ranked No. 7.
1) Peabody (14-1) – defeated Trousdale County, 17-9, for the Class 2A state title.
2) Covington (14-1) – the Chargers, ranked No. 1 the entire season, lost 21-14 to Alcoa in the Class 3A state title game.
3) Henry County (14-1) – the Patriots lost to Knoxville Central, 14-9, in the Class 5A state championship game.
4) Haywood (10-5) – lost to Greeneville, 56-21, in the Class 4A state championship game.

6) Waverly (10-3)
7) Lake County (12-2)
8) Dyersburg (12-1)
9) North Side (8-5)
10) Riverside (11-2)
