This time, Paul Schulze was in front of the camera.
Schulze – founder and executive producer Worthy Road Studios – BallGame Blitz Sports Network – was honored by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) when the organization presented the 2022-2023 A.F. Bridges Awards.
A.F. Bridges was named the first full-time Executive Secretary of the TSSAA and established the original TSSAA state office in Trenton.
The awards are given in recognition of the ideals of ethics and integrity in the teaching and promotion of citizenship and sportsmanship.
Schulze, who took a hobby and turned it into a career, was named the ‘Contributor of the Year’ for Athletic District 7, during festivities at Liberty High School, Wednesday.
“On behalf of Worthy Road Studios and the BallGame Blitz Sports Network, we are honored to have received the A.F Bridges Contributor of the year award,” Schulze said, “First we would like to thank all our advertisers who make our broadcasts possible. Without them, we couldn’t purchase all the equipment and pay our crews.
“Next, we would like to thank all our fine announcers and technical crews. We believe they are the best.”
Schulze and his team have broadcasted and live streamed over 500 events per year – which includes 127 at USJ, 80 at Union University, 70 at Jackson Christian, 50 at TCA, 15 at Peabody, 30 Rockabilly Baseball games, 110 church services, and 20 funerals.
“We would also like to thank the schools that we broadcast for – Peabody, USJ, Jackson Christian and TCA. They provide the best facilities and cooperation,” Schulze said, “We also thank all the viewers and athletes who appreciate these broadcasts! These broadcasts are for you!
“We also thank WNWS.COM, NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM and Grace Broadcasting for sharing our sports broadcasts and schedules on their website! We remember we started live streaming sports with them!
“Finally, we would like to thank the TSSAA for this high recognition of all our hard work!”
Schulze started as a cameraman for a hunting show, and began filming Peabody football in 2009, and soon his direction became pretty clear.
He joined NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM when live streaming began and wanted to do more than the one camera radio broadcasts.
Schulze was one of seven people honored by the TSSAA for District 7.

Clay Murley, Chester County High School – Principal of the Year
Matthew Smith – Hardin County High School – Athletic Director of the Year
