USJ’s Emily Jones and Julie Wagner scored a team-high 18 points and Claire Lewis added 14, but it wasn’t enough for the Lady Bruins, who fell 62-59 in overtime to Christian Academy of Knoxville in the TSSAA Division II-A state basketball quarterfinals, Friday.
Tied 51-51 after regulation, CAK’s Claire Brock, who finished with a game-high 28 points, scored nine of her team’s 11 points in overtime.
USJ finishes its season at 26-6, while CAK, 25-5, will play in the D II-A TSSAA state semifinals at Lipscomb University, Friday, March 1.
