Braxton Watkins, one of five people who was shot at 2 a.m., Monday, at a local nightclub, has died.

According to the Jackson Police Department, Watkins, 20, passed away about seven hours later.

The shooting took place at Cody’s Saloon & Dance Hall on Heritage Square, which is off Old Hickory Boulevard.

Cody’s released this statement on its Facebook page, Monday – “At this point in time, we are not commenting on the tragedy that happened at Cody’s last night. All the workers are okay. We are deeply saddened by this horrific tragedy. We are praying hard for those who were hurt and their families!”
