Steve Hamilton, a 2001 graduate of Jackson Christian School, has been promoted to a Maintenance Coordinator position at the Peoria Sports Baseball Complex in Peoria, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix.
The Complex consists of 12 baseball practice fields and is the spring training home of Major League Baseball’s Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres.
Steve, 34, has been working with Peoria since June 2016 as the Sports Facilites Irrigation Technician.
In 2011, Steve worked the Major League Baseball All-Star game, when the mid-summer classic was held at Chase Field in Phoenix.
Prior to accepting his position in Peoria, Steve gained experience working for three years in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick Baseball Complex.
He was also an assistant at Camelback Ranch – the spring training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox -and worked with the Arizona Diamondbacks maintenance crew.
In Peoria, Steve’s main duties will be coordinating 20-plus people for day-to-day activities on the Seattle Mariners side of the Complex, while working with Seattle pitching coach Mel Stottlemeyer Jr. and third base coach, Scott Broshus – both former members of the New York Yankees.
