Next round of workforce readiness scholarships open; Leaders Foundation to award $5K to West TN students

JACKSON, Tennessee – Leaders Education Foundation, a non-profit 501C-3, is awarding workforce readiness scholarships to students to meet their educational needs as they prepare to enter the workforce.

According to a press release from Mary Helen English – marketing & public relations specialist Leaders Credit Union – the program awards up to $1,000 to students enrolled in workforce readiness programs or pursuing industry certifications through West Tennessee community colleges or the Tennessee College of Applied Technology.

The application deadline for the summer session is May 12, 2023. Interested students can browse qualifying programs and can apply online at leadersgives.org/workforce-scholarships.

“One of the pillars of Leaders Education Foundation is to support workforce development in our community,” said Leigh Anne Bentley, Foundation President. “With employment needs across
our region, we hope these scholarships will allow more students to enter the workforce well
prepared.”

The scholarship funds can be used for tuition, purchasing associated supplies, books or materials,
testing fees or other costs associated with the program or certification. Applicants must be a member of Leaders Education Foundation to be eligible.

“These scholarships help to bridge the gap between tuition and other costs associated with each
program,” Bentley said. “No matter a student’s path to the workforce, we hope to support when
it comes to the education and career goals of individual students, while also strengthening the
development of our communities.

Anyone can become a member of Leaders Education Foundation through a one-time membership donation of $10 and stay updated when new grants and scholarships are announced.

Any donation over the membership fee can be given in honor or in memory of a loved one.

Through memberships, sponsorship and donations, the Leaders Education Foundation provides teacher grants, collegiate and workforce readiness scholarships, and lifelong learning resources throughout West Tennessee.
