New parking signs going up in downtown Jackson

If you park your vehicle on city streets downtown, there’s good news – parking increases from one hour to two hours – from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Monday through Friday.

Leonard Watlington, an employee with the City of Jackson, said he Tom Martin, Jim Lenard and Curtis Anderson will take about one week to change about 100 signs.

Parking signs at the Madison County Courthouse will not change.

Visitors parking on East Baltimore Street and South Liberty Street will continue to have a 30 minute limit.

Parking fines increase to $10.
