‘The One,’ a new 8,200-square-foot convenience store at the southwest corner of State Route 223 (Smith Lane) and U.S. Highway 70 – next to Central Distributors in the Airport Industrial Park – has opened.
Shell supplies the fuel for 10 pumps.
Inside ‘The One,’ the first impression a visitor will notice is – this is not an average convenience store.
“A lot of things are different about this store,” said Al Hudda, who owns the store. “Mainly, the food aspect of it. We have pizza – by the slice or whole – we make from scratch.
“We offer a full breakfast and lunch … cold sandwiches, wraps.
“We have about 70- to 80 different desserts at any given point.”
There’s also a candy wall a visitor can’t miss, soft toys for kids, fancy sodas, slushes, and the largest selection of energy drinks in Jackson.
“Right now we are open 5 a.m. to midnight,” Hudda said, when asked about business hours. “Within the next week or so we will (go) to 24 hours (a day) once everything is situated … once the store is running properly during the day.”
Al Hudda has his organization making quite a splash in the Jackson-Madison County market.
His company also owns the Old Medina Market, 2800 Old Medina Road, and ‘The One,’ 1154 Vann Drive, across from Panera Bread.
