Four days after a single gunshot enter her home at 339 Division Street, Megan McLaughlin remains – understandably – shaken.
McLaughlin said a .40 caliber shell that entered a window in her son’s bedroom would have been deadly – if he had not gone to bed.
“If he had been standing up, he would have been shot in the head – in his own bedroom – my child could have died,” Megan said, “This is ridiculous, and nobody is talking about it.
“Somebody knows something, but nobody is saying or doing anything.”
Megan, a registered nurse, said she believes the act was gang related.
“You knew a car was chasing another car,” Megan said, “There were two cars chasing each other. My son was shaken up … he had pieces of glass in his hair.
“I’m a nurse, and I cannot describe the feeling, when you think your child has been shot all the (nursing) knowledge goes out the window … I was afraid my child, an 11-year-old child, had been shot.”
