JACKSON, Tn…Local schools closed, and emergency personnel spent much of Wednesday
checking gear and planning responses. In a statement from JMCS Public Info
spokesperson Keli McAllister said, Out of an abundance of caution, due to
the threat of excessive rain that could cause dangerous flooding in the
Jackson Madison County area, all classes and extra curricular activities
have been canceled for Thursday, August 31. The School Central Office is
also closed.
Hurricane Harvey is now a Tropical Depression according to the National
Weather Service. As the storm moves across our area all eyes will be turned
to flood zones and flood prone areas.
Flash Flood Watches, Flood Warnings, and Wind Advisories remain in effect.
