On Thursday, June 12, 2025, a multi-task force operation was launched, successfully capturing fugitive Brian Lebel in Henning, TN.
On January 29, 2025, Lebel was sentenced to two years of probation and to serve 90 days in the Lauderdale County Jail for Reckless Aggravated Assault. This was a result of an incident where Lebel shot and struck a Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office vehicle in 2024. Despite being allowed to return home and report to jail to serve the remainder of his sentence as well as supervised probation with the State of Tennessee, Lebel violated his court-ordered terms by refusing to return to jail or meet with probation.
For approximately four months, significant state and federal resources have been spent pursuing Lebel. His status as a ‘survivalist’, spending most of his time in the woods, has made locating and capturing him challenging.
Today, a unified force of over seventy law enforcement officers from various agencies including the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force, Tipton County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, 25th Judicial Drug Task Force, Memphis Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee Department of Corrections, Tennessee Bureau of Investigations Drug Investigation Division, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Shelby County Sheriff’s Office executed a strategic operation. This operation led to the arrest of Lebel as he was attempting to flee the wooded area in the vicinity of his residence, which is located at 689 Henning Bethlehem Road in Henning, TN.
When captured, law enforcement located a campground utilized by Lebel. The campground contained numerous items consistent with living in the wilderness as a “survivalist,” including high-grade night vision goggles.
Additionally, officers arrested Lebel’s wife, Alexia Lebel, who has repeatedly assisted in Lebel’s flight from law enforcement.
“Thank you to all law enforcement officers who came together today for the greater good of Lauderdale County, TN,” said Sheriff Kelley. “This case was important because the risk that Lebel places on the citizens of our county, and your assistance is invaluable.”
Brian Lebel is currently housed in the Lauderdale County Jail, charged with Violation of Probation, Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Evading Arrest, and Resisting Arrest.
Alexia Lebel is charged with Accessory and False Report.
This investigation is ongoing and subject to change.
All people charged are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
