It didn’t come easy, but Gabriel Moya picked up his seventh save of the season when the Jackson Generals defeated the Mississippi Braves, 2-1, at the Ballpark at Jackson, Friday.
Moya got the Generals out of a bases loaded jam in the eighth, and finished things off in the ninth to preserve the win for starter Taylor Clarke (5-2, 2.57 ERA).
Jackson scored both runs in the bottom of the second when a Michael Perez double drove home Dawel Lugo, who led off the inning with a single and Rudy Flores, who walked.
Jackson’s five-game series with the Braves ends with a bang today.
At 6:05 p.m., it’s Star Wars Night presented by the Hardeman County Correctional Facility, and the Generals will give away a trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, and fireworks follow the game.
Additionally, the first 1,000 fans to enter the stadium will receive a Generals jersey t-shirt.
