The Southern League breaks for its annual All-Star game, which will be played at Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola, Florida, Tuesday.
The Jackson Generals have six players who will participate in the contest – first baseman Kevin Cron, second baseman Colin Walsh, designated hitter Rudy Flores and pitchers Taylor Clarke , Joey Krehbiel and Gabriel Moya.
The Generals (37-33) finished the first half of the season five games behind North Division champion Chattanooga.
Kevin Medrano leads the Generals and the Southern League in hitting with a .333 average, and has hit safely in his last 15 games.
Kevin Cron has a league-leading 14 home runs, and Taylor Clarke has posted a 6-3 record with a 2.92 earned run average in the 71.0 innings he has pitched.
Gabriel Moya is 4-1 in relief, with an impressive 1.15 earned run average in 31.1 innings of work.
The Generals resume play Thursday, June 22, when they host the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in the first game of a five-game series at 6:05 p.m., at the Ballpark at Jackson.
