MEMPHIS —The Memphis Safe Task Force on Tuesday executed 30 arrests, including a man charged with first-degree murder, and recovered eight illegal firearms.
Of note:
Aaron Collins, 49, was arrested for second-degree murder and tampering with evidence after MSTF, canvassing the area in connection with a fatal stabbing incident in the 200 block of North Main Street, located Collins near Beale Street and Fourth Street and arrested him without incident.
Four juveniles were arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and evading arrest after MSTF responded to a call regarding armed juveniles making threats to shoot. When MSTF stopped a Nissan Altima in the 4900 block of Willow Lane, four juveniles fled the vehicle on foot. All four juveniles were apprehended. Five firearms were recovered.
Braxton Cameron, 38, was arrested for felony possession of marijuana after MSTF observed him throw a backpack he’d obtained from a parked car in front of a suspected stash house in the 1400 block of Ragan Avenue, then throw the backpack out of a vehicle near Kerr and Oaklawn. MSTF retrieved the backpack and discovered 4.6 pounds of marijuana. MSTF conducted a traffic stop, arrested Braxton and obtained a search warrant for the suspected stash house, where they seized an additional 93 pounds of marijuana.
Jarvis Powell, 40, was arrested for outstanding warrants for weapons, possession of controlled substance, and evading after MSTF served an arrest/search warrant at Powell’s apartment in the 300 block of South Waldran Boulevard. The search warrant led to the recovery of marijuana, cocaine, oxycodone and a Ruger .380 handgun.
Tamarion Anderson, 21, was arrested for aggravated assault and domestic violence after MSTF responded to a domestic violence call and located Anderson, who matched the description in the BOLO. MSTF performed a frisk and recovered two firearms which led to an arrest without incident.
Since the launch of the Memphis Safe Task Force initiative, officers have made 12,105 arrests, including 122 for homicide, 1,312 for controlled substances, 1,222 for firearms violations, and 120 for sex offenses. Of those arrested, 375 were juveniles and 1,327 were known gang members. The task force has seized 2,066 illegal firearms. These enforcement actions reflect a sustained commitment to reducing violent crime and removing dangerous weapons from Memphis neighborhoods.
The Memphis Safe Task Force is a multi-agency initiative established via a Presidential Memorandum signed by President Donald Trump on Sept. 15, 2025. Aimed at addressing violent street crime, the task force coordinates federal, state, and local law enforcement and includes mobilized members of the Tennessee National Guard. The MSTF is focused on arresting violent criminals, clearing warrants, seizing firearms, and locating missing children. Since the operation began, the MSTF has located 186 missing children.
This operation reflects the MSTF’s commitment to coordinated enforcement efforts and its mission to identify, apprehend, and hold accountable those who pose a threat to public safety.
