There’s excitement around west Tennessee as state officials confirming
the west tennessee Memphis megasite site is one of two finalists sites of
international company looking to expand its company operations.
Memphis Regional Megasite committee members met Monday to discuss the
progress of the Megasite.
Chassen Haynes, director of business development with the state’s Economic
and Community Development office gave members a report including an update
that site infrastructure has been approved.
Board chairman and Haywood County Mayor Franklin Smith said the company is
not a major manufacturer like a car plant, but said West Tennesseans will
have to take what they can get for now.
The company is down to Jackson and one other site. The state hopes to
have a decision by September.
