Letter from the Associate Administrator for the Federal Aviation Administration Office of Airports regarding upgrade at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport.
Dear Airport Sponsor:
Today, United States Secretary of Transportation (Pete) Buttigieg announced a Notice of Intent to Fund projects selected under the FY 2023 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Contract Tower (FCT) Program.
Congratulations! Your project is included as one of the 33 projects selected at 29 airports in 22 States and Puerto Rico for the $20 million available in FY 2023.
Together, we are modernizing our Country’s airports to help meet the growing demand for air travel across the nation. A full list of the final selections as well as other FCT information can be found on our website at www.faa.gov/bil/airport-infrastructure/fct.
I also request you keep the local Airports District Office (ADO) or Regional Office (RO) apprised of any groundbreaking or grand opening ceremonies taking place on these projects. Representatives from the FAA and the Department of Transportation are looking for opportunities to engage the airport community as you put this BIL funding to work.
Congratulations again!
Sincerely,
Shannetta R. Griffin, P.E.
