UPDATE – TYRONE GREGORY GREER WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AROUND 7:15 PM

Around 4:30 this evening, Jackson police received a call of a shooting at Parkway East Apartments, 216 Roosevelt Parkway. A 27-year-old Jackson woman was visiting her sister in an upstairs apartment. She was standing in the entrance to her sister’s apartment when she was arguing with Gregory Tyrone Greer, 39, who lives with his girlfriend in a downstairs apartment. Greer was standing at the bottom of the stairway when he threatened to kill the woman and shot at her multiple times. She suffered a single gunshot
wound to the left arm.
A friend drove her to the emergency room at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Gregory Greer is wanted by Jackson police for this shooting.
He is also wanted by Jackson police on an unrelated felony theft charge. He is described as a black male, around 6′ 0″ in height and weighs about 210 pounds.
